May is Sexual Violence Awareness Month in Alberta
6 May 2025
At the ÒÁÈËÖ±²¥ Sexual Assault Centre (UASAC) we recognize that sexual and gender-based violence is a pervasive and urgent issue, one that profoundly affects post-secondary communities across the country, including our own.
We reaffirm our unwavering support for survivors and renew our commitment to prevention, education, and ongoing efforts to foster safer, more equitable spaces for all. We are committed to providing person-centered care for survivors, and community education on sexual violence prevention as we work towards our vision of a consent culture.
UASAC will remain open throughout the summer from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. MT on weekdays. Our services include same-day drop-in support and longer-term trauma-informed therapy. To schedule an appointment, you can reach out to us at uasac@ualberta.ca. To book a sexual violence prevention workshop for your classroom, student group, or training event, reach out to edcoord@ualberta.ca.
We invite you to stay tuned-in for more opportunities to get involved in violence prevention in your community, including two awareness weeks in September and January.
Together, we can build a culture of consent on campus.
