Brent Buechler is an active volunteer within his community and values connection, curiosity, and giving back. Volunteering has been important to him from a young age and continued throughout university into adulthood and his career. He has formed great friendships, expanded his network, and made a positive impact within his communities while volunteering.

Toronto native Ben Dashteshtani, a proud Maple Leafs fan, has had career-spanning roles at CH2M, Jacobs, and Worley. Ben brings expertise and dedication to every project and in 2023, he joined ASSET as an alumni volunteer and chaired Worley’s Canada West United Way Campaign, earning a nomination for United Way’s Employee Campaign Chair of the Year. Currently, Ben serves as a United Way Sponsored Campaign Representative in Edmonton. Off-duty, he’s a sports enthusiast, non-fiction reader, and action movie fan—especially Marvel’s Deadpool!

With a decade supporting local food companies, Kareema co-created the Fruit Truck at The Organic Box. An entrepreneur, she founded Urban Organics Market and Neo Juicery. Since 2017, Kareema has mentored businesses through organizations like the Alberta Agriculture and Food Council and the Aboriginal Business & Community Development Centre. She served on the Marketing of Agriculture Products Appeal Tribunal and was a Social Innovation Fellow. Currently, she manages employment programs in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan.
