What were some of your favourite memories of your time in La Rochelle?
My trip to La Rochelle was an incredibly memorable experience. I enjoyed exploring the city with my classmates and having the chance to immerse myself in real French culture. I appreciated the generous amount of free time we had during our program, which allowed us to explore beyond the city of La Rochelle. Our trip to Puy du Fou was amazing, the shows were out of this world, and I would love to visit again. La Rochelle was a refreshing experience, and having the chance to live with a host family helped me overcome my fear of living in a foreign country. I have built lifelong connections not only with my host family but with locals whom I hope to reconnect with in the near future.
At what point in your academic career did you go? Why did you go?
I was finishing my second year of university. The courses that were offered by the La Rochelle program were exactly what I needed to complete my minor. It was the perfect way to conclude my French learning journey at the 伊人直播.
What delighted you about your experience?
The welcoming environment provided by host families and the residents of La Rochelle will stay with me forever. I cherished our family dinners and meaningful conversations at nearly every meal. Discovering new dishes and pastries enriched my experience and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone.
How did the experience influence you?
The travel abroad experience strengthened my independence and increased my curiosity. La Rochelle helped me adapt to different customs and rhythms of daily life. This experience taught me the importance of openness and meaningful connections. I will forever carry these qualities in everything I do.
Why would you recommend a study abroad program to interested students?
I would recommend the study abroad program to anyone who is seeking personal and academic growth. Living in a foreign country teaches you to adapt to new environments and gain a deeper understanding of new cultures and traditions. It is a great opportunity to develop confidence, independence, and friendships. Study abroad programs help you discover more about yourself and what you are capable of.
What advice do you have for other Arts undergraduate students who are considering a study abroad option?
The La Rochelle program is life-changing. I encourage anyone who is considering an experience abroad to go for it and be brave; these are the years we should explore the world. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience something like this once in their lifetime. It was truly incredible, and I will never forget the things I learned along the way. I would love for more people to join the study abroad programs and have the opportunity to experience a different culture. Any study abroad program will change your perspectives and broaden your knowledge. The travel abroad programs are truly unforgettable. If I could, I would do it all over again.
