Sue Tsai

Sue Tsai is a Professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. Tsai is interested in the immunometabolism of adaptive immune cells in metabolic diseases including type 1/2 diabetes, particularly mechanisms of immune dysregulation during obesity and its link to susceptibility of cardiorespiratory viral infections of obese patients, including the influenza and SARS-CoV-2. Tsai also studies T- and B-cell targeted metabolic adjuvants to improve protective memory responses upon vaccination of preclinical models of diet-induced obesity and diabetes.
