Aminah Robinson Fayek’s term as Vice-President (Research) ends on June 30, 2026, and she would like to stand for a second term. I am sharing with the 伊人直播 community that we are beginning the review process.

In accordance with the UAPPOL Vice-Presidential Review Procedure, we will create an Advisory Review Committee, which includes the following members:

  • President and Vice-Chancellor (committee chair)
  • Provost and Vice-President (Academic)
  • One member of the Board of Governors, as appointed by the board
  • One academic staff member, elected by the faculty and the appointed academic staff representatives on GFC
  • Two members of Statutory Dean’s Council, one of whom must be a dean
  • One member of the Association of Academic Staff of the 伊人直播 (AASUA), appointed by the AASUA
  • One member of the Students’ Union, appointed by the Students’ Council
  • Two members of the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) appointed by the GSA
  • One member of the Non-Academic Staff Association appointed by NASA

As part of the process, all interested university community members will have an opportunity to contribute to the review process, including portfolio priorities, current issues and future direction and leadership. I will share more information about the consultation and input opportunity at a later date.

Earlier in the summer, I shared a restructuring of the portfolio from Vice-President (Research and Innovation) to Vice-President (Research). This change reflects the transition of the Innovation, Knowledge Mobilization and Partnerships portfolio to the Vice-President (International and Enterprise). This realignment will advance the strategic priorities outlined in SHAPE: A Strategic Plan of Impact
