What are AI Chatbots and How Do I Use Them?

Description

In this two-hour workshop, participants will explore the use of AI Chatbots in clinical medicine. The workshop will include a combination of didactic material, livestreaming demonstrations, and small group exercises in an interactive online format. No previous knowledge of AI Chatbots is required.

Objectives

  1. Learn how to access an online chatbot, write an effective prompt, and manage a conversation.
  2. Use an AI guided chatbot to perform a variety of tasks related to clinical medicine.
  3. List errors common to artificial intelligence guided chatbots and understand why they occur.
  4. Review how chatbots can interface with internet-connected devices and other apps.
  5. Discuss the ethical, legal, and social implications of generative AI both internal and external to the UAlberta System.

Target Audience

Clinicians of all disciplines interested in how AI could be integrated into clinical medicine.

Facilitation

This 2-hour online workshop will be presented by Dr. Jeffrey Franc, Associate Professor from the Department of Emergency Medicine.
